my own indie albums
OUT OF ORDER (2007) was self-produced and includes 12 original songs. Except for the eight drum tracks (performed and recorded by Alex Mine), and one of Jess Graham's harmony tracks (recorded by David Tedesco), everything else was recorded with two microphones and an old PC in my apartment. In addition to Alex and Jess, Dave Buland played bass, David Celia played electric and acoustic guitars, Stephen Stanley (Lowest of the Low) sang harmonies, and John Showman (Creaking Tree String Quartet) played fiddle. I played acoustic guitar, sang and even managed a piano track. David Tedesco mixed and mastered it.
LONGSHORE (2010) was produced, recorded and mixed by Don Kerr (Rheostatics, Ron Sexsmith). It has 14 originals and my take on Springsteen's No Surrender. Musicians include old friends Derek Watson on bass and Alex Mine on drums as well as Don's recruits Paul Linklater (electric guitar) and Michael Holt (keyboards and vocals). Plenty of beautifully intertwined harmonies, vivid lyrics, guitar riffs and solos galore. Joćo Carvalho mastered it.
